Pella was founded in 1847. It was the childhood home of Wyatt Earp, whose father Nicholas Porter Earp had settled on a farm near Pella. Pella today boasts the largest working grain windmill in the United States, the Vermeer Mill; a treasured gem, now fully-restored from the 1900’s, the Pella Opera House. The town offers a plethora of charming shops and attractions. Come for the awards and stay for the whole weekend to experience all Pella has to offer.
